Shishay holds a PhD in Animal Genetics, Breeding, and Reproduction from Huazhong Agricultural University, a Master's Degree in Tropical Livestock Production and Health from Addis Ababa University, and a B.Sc. in Animal Range and Wildlife Sciences from Mekelle University, Ethiopia. He is an assistant professor of animal genetics, breeding, and reproduction at Samara University, Ethiopia, and has over 13 years of research, development, teaching, and consulting experience. He has authored more than 16 publications in peer-reviewed journals.
